Our Legacy

In the heart of Reverend James D. Bracken, the seed of Mission Bible Training Center was planted. In 1969, he saw a significant need for a more meaningful and effective ministry. From the sincere and heartfelt prayer meetings held in his own home, the vision for a transformative institution began to take shape.

The journey commenced with the opening of the first Mission Teens Center in Norma, New Jersey. After two years of tireless work and little success, divine guidance led Rev. Bracken to a breakthrough. God bestowed upon him a unique concept and format that brought immediate, life-altering results. Today, this same program stands as the cornerstone of all twenty Mission Teens Centers, continuing to touch and transform lives.

Rev. Bracken (1934-2012), whose memory continues to inspire us, founded Mission Teens, Inc., realizing his vision of a residential center designed to help troubled youth after much prayer and reflection. His legacy lives on through his wife, Boydie Bracken, who continues to be an integral part of the ministry, providing blessings and inspiration to countless lives.

Our Impact

Since its inception in 1969, over 25,000 people have walked through the doors of various Mission Teens Centers, seeking help, hope, and transformation. Our annual review reveals a promising success rate. We hear from approximately 57% of our graduates, and out of these, about 87% are thriving. Even among the non-graduates, around 40% of those we hear from are doing well. Many of these individuals have found their calling in Christian ministries, while some have chosen to give back by working at our centers.

The legacy of Rev. Bracken and the power of faith carry us forward. The vision he saw in 1969 is still alive and thriving today, touching lives, mending broken spirits, and leading people towards a path of spiritual fulfillment and sobriety.
