Joshua Price

My name is Joshua Price, and I am excited to share that I am actively reclaiming everything that the enemy stole from me. Before my encounter with Jesus and being born again, I was embroiled in a losing battle against Satan, the world, and my own sinful nature. Like everyone born into this fallen world, I faced my share of self-inflicted problems and those that the world imposed on me.

One of the most devastating losses in my life was the suicide of my mother, who was not only my best friend but also my everything. Growing up in New Orleans, I experienced the trauma of Hurricane Katrina, which destroyed my home and dispersed my friends and family. Additionally, I lost my brother, the closest person to me, to a senseless act of violence—a bullet to the head. Tragedy struck again when my favorite cousin, Sheena, was brutally tortured and set on fire in her own home. For a long time, I blamed God for these horrific events, but through the Word, I've come to understand that these circumstances were the result of living in a broken world, not a direct act of God.

My path down sin's road was something I never could have imagined as a child. I became a convicted felon, a neglectful father, an alcoholic, a drug addict, and a menace to society. As I watched my behavior deteriorate, my depression deepened, leading me to use meth, crack, cocaine, heroin, and just about anything else I could find. My addiction stripped me of my identity, joy, peace, purpose, confidence, and self-worth. I had lost everything.

Since embracing Christ, however, all these aspects of my life have been restored. God heard my cries for help and responded powerfully. He guided me to the Mission Teens program, where I met His son, Jesus. I am currently a part of The Lion's Den, having transferred from Crossville M.B.T.C. I initially left Crossville M.B.T.C in December of 2021 and returned in April of 2022. During my second time with the mission, my prayer for a surrendered heart was answered.

Being a part of Mission Teens has been a rebirth for me. God is breaking down strongholds and aiding me in my daily battle against sin. I have the privilege of immersing myself in the Bible for over five hours a day, developing a zeal and passion for the Lord. I love Jesus, and my deepest prayer is to love Him with all my heart, soul, and might. The Word tells us that we are more than conquerors, and that is precisely what I am becoming.
